Welcome
to Rainey's Roots! My name is Lorraine Murray Devenney.
Pictured left is six generations of women in my family who were born
in Philadelphia, PA. Starting with Anna J. Clover (1862-1920) -
top left); her daughter, Florence Moritz (1884-1968) - top
right; Marie A. Smith (1904-1987) - center left; her daughter,
Joan Maguire (1931-1985) - center right; and me and my
granddaughter, Oriana Principe (bottom).
I have been researching our
family's history since 1994 - mostly using the various archives in
Philadelphia. With all that I've learned, it was time to put it
all in a nutshell and that's where this web page comes in. So,
not only is this page meant to share current events with family
members - it's also meant to share what I've learned with other
genealogists researching the same surnames.
